March 24, 2016

HOLY THURSDAY:  Holy Thursday is also called Maundy Thursday.  It is celebrated the Thursday before Easter to honor the Last Supper.  The four (4) events commemorated are:  the washing of the Disciples’ feet by Jesus Christ, the institution of the Mystery of the Holy Eucharist of the Last Supper, the agony of Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, and the betrayal of Christ by Judas Iscariot.

PURIM: Purim is one of the most joyous and fun holidays on the Jewish calendar.  It commemorates a time when the Jewish people living in Persia were saved from extermination.  The story of Purim is told  in the Biblical book of Esther.
